12 babies were born on the 1st of Muharram during Ilal Hijrah 1448, with 7 baby boys and 4 baby girls born in Brunei Muara District. The Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Islamic Syiar Development Division held a Gift Presentation Ceremony for the babies at the Women and Children Centre, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital, 18th June morning.

The gifts were presented by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Coordinating Minister for National Security, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence, as Chairperson of Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei, TAIB Board of Directors, and Datin; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Coordinating Minister for Social and Manpower Policies and Minister of Home Affairs as Chairperson of Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sendirian Berhad Board of Directors and Pengiran Datin; and Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Minister of Religious Affairs.

The gifts comprised of Si Manja account and hampers, vouchers for joining TBK Nur Savings, baby essentials, and religious book.

Meanwhile, a baby girl was born at Suri Seri Begawan Hospital, Kuala Belait. The gifts were presented by Awang Haji Mohamad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
